There’s always that “place”. That place that everyone who you meet that has been there lights up when you mention the name. That name is Cap Maison in St. Lucia. Cap Maison is luxury travel defined. From celebrities to honeymooners, it’s difficult to find someone who doesn’t love Cap Maison. St. Lucia is a wonderful island with tons of activities from hiking to diving to fishing to my favorite, lounging. You may have even seen Cap Maison before on TV as it has been featured on shows like The Bachelor which it has been a host site a few times. Also, Travel and Leisure has just named Cap Maison the #2 top resort/hotel in the Caribbean.
There’s so much to love. I travel a ton for work as a producer of luxury travel hotel and resort marketing videos and 3D virtual tours. Cap Maison is at the top of my list and I’ve been to some pretty cool places around the world.
The Cliff Restaurant at Cap Maison is an award winning open air restaurant with exquisite food and service all day which you expect with luxury travel. You can get both vibes below inside the 3D virtual tour we shot of The Cliff. Consistently, the chef (who has been there since the beginning), amazes your taste buds with incredible dishes like jerk beef, tons of fresh fish, local pasta with mushroom and much more. There is a full service bar which is also fueled by an impressive wine cellar. Service is warm and top notch. Ask for Maggie who is one of our favorite servers.
There are other dining options including The Naked Fisherman Beach Bar & Grill which has an awesome vibe and the same high calibre food…all beachside. Order the “sticky ribs” from the lunch menu. The ribs come scraped off the bone and served in a jar with cole slaw. The ribs taste like candy and might have been one of the best lunches I have had this year. You can also dine as a group right by the ocean or as a couple on the romantic Rock Maison (Video on left) deck which feels like dinner in the middle of the Caribbean, literally.
Customer service is something we all know can define your experience with luxury travel. Cap Maison excels with customer service that may luxury travel destinations should look to for a model on how to do it. From the guys mowing the grass to the general manager, they all go out of their way to meet you and address you by name. It’s not that fake kind of salutation, it’s a real greeting that leaves you impressed with their operation. Off the top of my head, I can reel off several names that made our visit incredible: Ross, Jasper, Maggie, Dimitri, Lavyrn, Keisha, Dunston, and Robinson to name a few. You definitely feel like family while staying at Cap Maison.
Accommodations are as unique as the architecture they sit under. Beds are incredibly comfortable and all villas have a full kitchen and all the other luxury travel amenities you expect from a luxury resort. Definitely try and get an ocean view villa with a rooftop terrace and pool as those come with serious wow factor. Check out this 3D virtual tour and take in a quick legendary St. Lucia sunset that never disappoints at Cap Maison.
One can easily get decompressed at Cap Maison and one is often conflicted on exactly which direction to head when you wake up. Do I want to hit the spa and get a 90 minute deep tissue massage (which was excellent, btw)? Should I go to the gym today? No. Hmmm, what about laying out in my huge rooftop pool? How about a kayak (see video right)? I’m thinking a lazy morning with my iPad in the ocean front hammock at The Naked Fisherman. Oh wait, nice breeze today, how about taking out the Hobie Cat? What time’s dinner? You will talk about how great the food is at Cap Maison. You get the idea.
There are a few dining and activity options nearby at Rodney Bay, but seriously you could never step foot off property from Cap Maison and be doing pretty well. Below are a few destinations nearby that are worth checking out. There’s a wild local street party you could check out called “Jump Up” which is where the locals gather for loud music, local food and dancing. Pigeon Island offers a fun hike and a really cool bar called Thirst that is in the dungeon of a historical building. Pigeon island is also host to the world famous Jazzfest every May. Ironically, I have never seen a pigeon on the island! On property at Cap Maison, besides all the dining, you can enjoy snorkeling, a catamaran, wind surfing, or simply chilling out at their main pool which has an unreal view of the Caribbean and mountains. Be sure and order up the plantain chips and salsa with a cocktail. you will officially feel like you are on vacation at that point. Hurry and get over to Cap Maison so you can be one of us. One of us that lights up when you hear those 2 words that evoke that feeling of relaxation and luxury travel defined. Cap Maison.
